With over 20 years of extensive experience in orthopaedics, out of which 13 years in exclusive paediatric orthopaedics practice, Dr. Somesh Virmani adds tremendous value to his practice. Mastering every aspect of the field at the paediatric orthopaedic unit of the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, a renowned institution in the Asia Pacific region, Dr. Somesh Virmani can handle all paediatric orthopaedic cases with ease.
With a prestigious two-year fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics from CMC, Vellore, Dr. Somesh Virmani is adept in the skills of examining and treating kids and children with diverse orthopaedic issues. Choosing to specialize in the treatment of bones and joint problems of children, his special interests include congenital orthopaedic anomalies and Cerebral Palsy. In addition, he has significant experience in handling CTEV (Clubfoot) and other foot and ankle disorders in children, like Flat feet and Tarsal Coalition.
He has a special interest and extensive experience in Congenital anomalies like Congenital/Developmental dislocation of hip (DDH), Congenital dislocation of knees (CDK), Congenital vertical talus (CVT), and Radial Clubhand. He is well-versed in hip preservation surgeries, including Safe Surgical Dislocation and various osteotomies around the hip. He also has enormous experience in dealing with cases of Perthes Disease, Erb’s Palsy - Obstetric Brachial Plexus Palsy, and deformities like Genu Varum, Genu Valgum, Cubitus Valgus, Coxa Vara, Ankle Valgus, etc. His expertise also covers Osteogenesis Imperfecta and Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE).
